A poem

What cause for hope, though all seem dark
For Thou art my Salvation!
No more despair shall grip my heart
For Thou art my Salvation!
Salvation, Oh Salvation
My God is my defense
His voice rings clear
“My child, dear,
I am thy Salvation!”

What cause for joy, though battles rage
For Thou art my Salvation!
I’ll take my stand, the fight engage
For Thou art my Salvation!
Salvation, Oh Salvation
My God is my defense
His voice rings clear
“My child, dear,
I am thy Salvation!”

What cause for peace, midst daily strife
For Thou art my Salvation!
A certain calm through all of life
For Thou art my Salvation!
Salvation, Oh Salvation
My God is my defense
His voice rings clear
“My child, dear,
I am thy Salvation!”

What cause for trust, Thou wilt defend
For Thou art my Salvation!
I leave myself, within Thy hand
For Thou art my Salvation!
Salvation, Oh Salvation
My God is my defense
His voice rings clear
“My child, dear,
I am thy Salvation!”

What cause for praise, right here, right now
For Thou art my Salvation!
My soul shall shout, my heart shall bow
For Thou art my Salvation!
Salvation, Oh Salvation
My God is my defense
His voice rings clear
“My child, dear,
I am thy Salvation!”
