“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand,…And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations.”
~Romans 5:1-2,3
Because of what Jesus did, I find that I can live from a center of strong and unchanging peace. “We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” I have peace…and a standing grace. It’s like a standing invitation, a completely open door, a totally accessible entrance without apology or embarrassment. As I wake in the morning…when I am troubled, ..or busy …or even exasperated! Right there, in that situation, I have a standing peace with God. And a standing grace. “And not only that…” And so, from that secure and unruffled and unassailable reality of being at peace with God and standing in grace, from that position I can welcome the troubles that must come.
“Father in heaven, help me to live the life You have called me to in Christ…not chasing “dreams” of my own imagination. Open my eyes and my heart as I read Your word. Prepare me for today and for those things ahead. Please hold off the hourly blight of anxiety and its accompanying nervelessness. May Jesus Christ be praised and trusted, honored and obeyed.”
