Each of us is a sufferer. And in the place of suffering we need to know that we are not alone. Even though each one suffers uniquely, we need to know that someone cares, someone understands, someone stands by us and with us. God Himself sees the sufferer and He cares. Here’s a poem that puts that comfort into verse.

TRUST ME, MY CHILD

Trust Me, My child ~
My goodness has not faltered.
My heart of love is not withdrawn from thee.
I call thee on to love and, yes ~ to suffer.
I call thee now to find thy joy in Me.

Come close, My child ~
I mend the broken-hearted.
I am the God that changes tears to song.
Come close, My child, My heart is very tender
To all thy grief and all that seems so wrong.

Praise Me, My child ~
Through tears and griefs and questions.
Praise Me with all Thy heart and soul and mind.
Bow down and rest and lose thyself in wonder
I am thy end and I ~ exceeding kind.
