LORD JESUS, I LOST YOU TODAY
Lord Jesus, I lost you today
Midst the myriad things to be done
‘Twixt the duties, the groaning and fog
I lost your sweet presence, my Sun.
I pushed and cajoled and complained
And moved myself forward each hour
But Lord, Where were You, did You go?
I lacked Your good guidance and power.
“I am here, my dear child, never far
My arms are for resting – abide.
Won’t you come now and rest, I am yours.
Never far, I will give and will guide
Through the duties that press, and the fog
For the mind that can’t think itself clear
For the heart that would sink in the strife
Never far, my dear child, I am near.”
I will rest, my dear Lord, in Thy shade
I will lift my poor thoughts to be healed.
I will lift up my spirit for light
I will raise now my heart to be sealed
I will praise You for You are my God
You are all that I need, it is so
You have loved me and that is enough
I will worship Thee, whom I would know.
