What do you do when you lose your way?
And you wonder “Why?” from day to day.
And you “push” and “push” and yet you stray?
What do you do with an attitude
That groans and gripes and loves to brood?
What do you do with a furrowed brow?
What do you do in the here and now?
What do you do with your moments here?
Do you fill them up with faith – or fear?
Do you bustle and buzz and sometimes sting?
Or do you give thanks in everything?
Can you rest when the weeds are a thriving crop?
Can you stand and sing when you long to drop?
Do you smile through your pain and show you care?
…Say “no” to yourself? – do you even dare?
Do you see God’s hand when you’re all hemmed in?
Do you trust in His mercy when you see your sin?
Do you wait and long for a better place?
Do you use this moment to seek His face?
Do you bring the filth to be burned and cleansed?
Do you bring the diseased for His touch to mend?
Do you show Him the cisterns so dark and dry?
Do you trust Him to hear your heartfelt cry?
