PX, my second daughter, is my hightlighted artist of the day; she likes to paint. Her chosen medium is wooden bird houses. She loves to use bright and vibrant colors. And she likes to include a theme in her paint schemes. She includes on the bird houses likenesses of our pet chickens, the members of our family and loved and familiar scenes. I love the way PX is not shy about using color.
A favorite theme in her artwork is Frodo her pet chicken. In this first “Frodo picture”, she drew from a photograph she had taken of her chicken. In the second “Frodo picture”, she depicts stages in the life of her pet chicken.
A recurring character in her drawing and painting is “Raccoon”. Racoon appears on paper, white boards, bird houses and the side fence of our yard.
And in case you are wondering what I look like, she did a colored pencil picture of me. She thought she made mama look fat, but I was flattered that she chose to draw me.
