My girls and I went to a science lecture Saturday evening. We learned some amazing facts.
- There is an incredible network of blood vessels in our bodies – how many miles of blood vessels? We have 60,000 miles of blood vessels in our bodies: enough to wrap around the equator of the earth 2-1/2 times!
- Our body is making new red blood cells continually. How many red blood cells do our bodies make?…each second? Every second our bodies make 3 million red blood cells! Mind boggling.
- And our DNA? DNA is information…and we have lots of it! Each person’s body has miles and miles of DNA…how many miles? Your body has 100 billion miles of DNA…that’s enough to span the distance from the earth to the sun and back again…500 times!
Well, there they are, a few scientific facts to read and wonder at; ponder them and try to wrap your mind around them. Then go out and look at the stars, or at a spider’s web, or a feather…and wonder some more.
